A few weekends ago we went down to the Anoka County Fair to see the Monster Trucks at the Grandstand. It was cold and rainy, but that wasn't going to stop us from our fun.
Ethan thought the Monster Trucks were awesome. He stood up in the stands yelling "Lets do this!!" When we first arrived he was a little distraught over the thought of the trucks crushing the rows of cars, but once they got started that was all forgotten.
Capri had fun too. She was bouncing to the music on my lap and squealing. She flirted with a little boy in front of us for a while and then did some people watching.
After about 30 minutes we'd had enough of the trucks (good thing it was free with admission) and Ethan's only other request was to get his first ride on a Ferris wheel. Its always funny to me how things suddenly come onto his radar and he just can't let it go. A few weeks ago he somehow found out what a ferris wheel was and has been asking randomly since then if he can go on one. So when we got the fair it was the first thing he saw in the skyline. He was so excited to get a ride.
Travis, on the other hand, was not that thrilled to be the one to be selected to take the ride with Ethan. We're not fans of heights. It was worth it, though. At least that's what I told him. Seeing the joy these little simple things can bring to kids is one of the best parts of parenthood.

I think Ethan may get the "random-have-to-do-it" trait from me. He is a boy after my own heart.
What a great time! I am glad the rain didn't stop you all from having fun!
